Welcome
I am a freelance journalist, committed to
providing informative and well-written articles on tight deadlines.
My areas of expertise include:
Parenting, education, psychology, social justice, politics and Internet
research. My work has been featured on Associated Content.
Since I began freelance writing, I have had
the opportunity to extensively research the residential teen programs industry
also known as the therapeutic educational industry. I was instrumental in the
creation of legislation that was created to protect families from the often
fraudulent and abusive programs that have been uncovered. If you have
issue-specific idea for an article, I would love to share my experiences with
your readers through my writing.
Some of my published articles include:
"Are Our Teens Really as Troubled
as We Think They Are?"
"A Warning About Private Specialty
Schools for Teens"
(more on the
Writing Portfolio page.)
About Me
I am a professional writer, web designer,
desktop publisher & photographer, as well as being adept in internet research. I
am a wife and a mother of four children (ages 12-23). I live in Haymarket,
Virginia, a Washington, D.C. suburb.
In my "spare time," I work on the behalf of
teens as a teen advocate. I have been instrumental in getting legislation
created to stop abuse of teens in residential-type programs. (Legislation is
H.R. 6358 (formerly H.R. 1738 & 5876) The Stop Child Abuse in Residential
Programs for Teens Act of 2008.)
If you feel you could benefit from the services that I offer, please don't
hesitate to send me an email or give me a call.
